When I was 19 I had the incredible opportunity to live and work in the Galápagos Islands for six weeks. They are a truly unique place, unlike any I’ve seen on this planet. Later on in my career I began studying evolution, and was inspired by how brilliant and ahead-of-it’s-time Darwin’s theory of natural selection was. So for the Monochrome Mapping Competition, I created this piece that charts Darwin’s voyage through the Galápagos. You can see what happened at each stop, and read from Darwin’s personal journals.
